In Kuwait, the world’s largest landfill for tires is burning.
The information and video footage of the incident was spread on the social network, and the event has already been assessed by the public as a global ecological catastrophe and the greatest toxic threat.
“Kuwait has the largest tire burial ground in the world. We can imagine the dangers it poses in terms of climate change and pollution.” – writes Insider Paper.
According to media reports, a fire broke out at the Al-Sulaybia tire dump in Kuwait yesterday, and a day earlier, the Kuwait Public Environmental Service presented a plan for waste recycling and site clearance.
There are reportedly at least 52 million tires in the landfill area.
Fires are frequent here, for example, a similar case was reported in March this year, the fire spread over an area of 3,000 square meters, and smoke could be seen from space.
