Tardigrades, the same sea bear, has been declared the world’s most enduring creature. Although Tardigrade is an octopus microscopic creature, it has been declared the most durable creature in the world.
Japanese scientists have conducted large-scale studies on sea bears. Tardigrades range in size from 300 to 700 micrometers. With a rounded mouth and eight legs, sea bears feed on micro-organisms.
How durable are they?
According to Japanese science, tardigrades have existed on our planet for 100 million years. They can withstand temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius and -272 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is quite possible that tardigrades could also exist in space.
According to Ralph Schill, a microbiologist at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, this is the only creature that has witnessed the dinosaur period. According to the microbiologist, as a result of the expected apocalypse, it is possible that the only living creature on earth will remain and this creature will be tardigrades.
Water bears can only be seen with an electron microscope, unless of course you have supernatural sight. They mainly live in mossy environments and feed on microorganisms. This octopus invertebrate can withstand extreme pressure, radiation and temperature, even for years without food. Ice does not kill them, about 32 years ago Japanese scientists discovered it in a frozen state and were able to save it. We must admit that water bears, the same tardigrades are the most resilient creatures in the world.
