Due to the flow of migrants, the Latvian government has declared a state of emergency on the border with Belarus. France24 news agency writes about this.
According to the publication, the state of emergency imposed at the border will take effect from August 11 to November 10.
The state of emergency operates in Ludza, Kraslava and Augsdaugava districts, as well as in Daugavpils.
The state border guard is authorized to use the procedures and means at their disposal to prevent persons from crossing the border. The guards also have the right to use physical force and special means.
