On September 30, “Artificial Intelligence Day”, Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced his humanoid robot “Optimus”.
The billionaire said that the robot business is more valuable than the production of cars and hopes to soon go beyond the production of self-driving devices.
The robot prototype came on stage and waved to the audience. The video shows how the robot moves the box and waters the flowers.

“Our goal is to create a humanoid robot as soon as possible,” Musk said while still at Tesla’s California office. “We still have a lot of work to do to refine and perfect Optimus.
Musk said that now humanoid robots “don’t have a brain”; They lack the intelligence to make their own way in our world. In addition, they are very expensive and produced in small quantities.
“In contrast,” he noted, “Optimus will be a very flexible robot that will be produced in large quantities — a million units — and is expected to cost less than a car, up to $20,000.”
At first, the robot will perform boring, routine, or dangerous tasks, including moving parts in Tesla’s factory, connecting cars, and more.
According to Musk, in the future, these robots will come into our homes, prepare breakfast for us, clean the house, take care of the elderly, and maybe even become sex partners for humans.
At Friday’s event, Elon Musk also talked about fully self-driving cars, noting that they have updated the high-speed computer Dojo, which is an integral part of self-driving devices. The head of Tesla hopes that by 2024 they will already be able to produce fully self-driving cars that will not have a pedal
