According to the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Gebreius, at least 70% of the population of all countries should be vaccinated in the first half of next year, because otherwise it will be difficult to defeat the pandemic. Information about this is spread by CNBC.
“Vaccines are one of the most powerful weapons against the pandemic, but the world can not use them properly, because the luckiest citizens to date have been vaccinated,” said Tedros Gebreusus.
The head of the World Health Organization says that more than 3.5 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in only 10 countries, which is about 75% of the total vaccine doses, while in poor countries only 1% of the vaccine doses have been administered.
Gebreisus said the pandemic, which has been going on for 19 months, is a kind of test that the world has a hard time passing.
“Seven months have passed since the first vaccine appeared, but although the distribution of vaccines is still unfair, the pandemic will continue until all countries have proper access to vaccines,” Gebreisus said.
