American technology company Boston Dynamics has released a new video in which humanoid robots created by him perform parkour tricks. The footage of the impressive movements of the devices has earned the attention and great approval of the users in the internet space.
The 1-minute video captures 2 robots known as Atlas, who try to overcome various obstacles during this time. They are in a specially arranged space on the second floor of the Boston Dynamics head office in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA. In the beginning, the first device demonstrates its capabilities, moving flexibly on specially placed planks and boxes, and then the second robot repeats the same thing. Finally, they perform the tricks synchronously and successfully retaliate.
It is noteworthy that the engineers working in the company have been training robots for such maneuvers for several months. Their goal was to maintain balance by Atlas and to perform different movements one after the other quickly and flawlessly, which he largely managed to do. According to specialists, several defects were observed, which are hardly noticeable to the inexperienced eye. However, this will help them refine their models in the future so that they can resemble humans in behavior as much as possible.
Boston Dynamics created Atlas for rescue operations and is improving its physical capabilities day by day. The robot is very fast and has good balance skills, can transport objects of different gravity and can move easily even on difficult terrain. He perceives the space perfectly, which makes it difficult to overcome obstacles, jump and climb stairs.
