Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said 16,603 people had been evacuated due to the fire in the south of the country.
The Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry wrote on the social network that Turkey had successfully extinguished a total of 167 fires.
According to the county forest department, fires in 98 villages were extinguished by 16 firefighters – rescue planes, nine unmanned aerial vehicles, 51 helicopters, one unmanned helicopter, 850 fire trucks and water tankers, 150 construction vehicles, and 5,250 personnel.
“Forest fires have broken out in 33 of Turkey’s 81 provinces. Efforts are under way to put out the remaining 16 fires in seven provinces of southwestern Turkey: Adana, Antalya, Aydin, Denizli, Hatay, Isfar and Mugla,” Bekir Pakdemirli wrote on Twitter.
